End of year stress over meeting annual goals.

Goals

Wrapping up the end of 2024 means time for reflection over goals that I made at the beginning of the year. In the day-to-day, it is easy to get bogged down with technical details of the current project and let main goals drift to the background. Overall, I’m quite happy with the work I have been able to get done this year. I think I may have fallen short of some of my “main quest” goals of establishing my own research group to scale up the work I have been doing, but at the same time I have managed to run a large number of research projects with students and complete a series of impactful algorithmic governance projects for important organisations. These projects by themself I think are quite impactful, but also help build a portfolio I can reference to get more impactful projects in the future. I’m excited for what 2025 will bring and look forward to taking concrete steps towards achieving my main goals.
