Esoteric Halloween costumes and Alec turns 25.
Halloween and Other Activities
Not much to report for this month. Continuing progress on the INFLOW-AI model. Details are technical and not overly-visualisable.
Alec and I celebrated Halloween this year with a house warming and costume party. Inspired by the YouTube Channel Great Art Explained (specifically his video on Madame X and Dr. Pozzi, which I highly recommend, Alec and I dressed as the eponymous muses. We visited both paintings at the Tate Britain earlier in the year, and really liked the artist and historical controversy surrounding both paintings (Madame X was a French socialite originally painted with a scandalous shoulder strap sliding off her shoulder, Dr. Pozzi was a womanising gynaecologist dressed almost like a Catholic cardinal in the portrait).
Our costume inspiration: Madame X by John Singer-Sargeant and Dr. Pozzi.
I think Alec captured Dr. Pozzi perfectly, to the point where the cardinal robes might have offended some passersby…
Quite pleased with the lighting I did for the party.
Also celebrated Alec’s birthday party on the same night, though the letters on the cake were not cooperating.
Our mistletoe cactus (Goya) has started blooming.
Made some English breakfast at home, surprisingly easy given the number of food items (but you just fry it all in a pan).
